Daily scriptures 4/21/08 April 21, 2008

So a few things that I came across as I was reading the daily scriptures today.   PSALM 56:3,4

“3when i am afraid, i will trust in you.  4in God, whose word i praise, in God i trust, i will not be afraid.  What can mortal man do to me.”

I pondered this for a while.  the “when i’m afraid i’ll trust in you”  hum?  that hit me like a mack truck.  what do most of us do when we are afraid?  WE RUN!  that’s seems to be the smart thing to do, or is it?  I have come to this……..afraid, fear –it’s just a feeling, feelings are temporary, they don’t last long and we really can’t base truth on what we feel.  truth and feelings are two separate things.  so what i have realized is that no matter what i feel (fear being the scariest) that as long as i trust in the truth that i know, that he loves me and will protect me, then the feelings aren’t even worth entertaining.  Ok so easier said then done (did i tell you i have fear issues LOL)  but i will try like heck to do it and each time i do, it will be easier than the next. 

Also when breaking down the words I also came to the conclusion, that the word afraid whas used in two different ways:

“when i am afraid”— afraid meaning feeling fear and

” i will not be afraid”— meaning i will not run

I really feel like God what saying in this that we will feel fear (of course we have feelings-he put them there) but we shouldn’t run away from what makes us fearful.  to stand on what is truth and what is good.  that’s sometimes the things that God is preparing for us to do for him may not always make us feel comfortable and  change is usually scary but it brings me into a higher place, with him, where the blessings can flow……………………………..BRING THEM ON!!
